Caller ID Spoofing becomes mainstream

They talk about SpoofCard, which we have previously talked about. This opens a whole new can of works making it far easier to break into someone’s voicemail.
I feel that spoofing caller ID has legitimate purposes, but do you feel it should be so readily available to the public?
CallerID spoofing should be made only to those technically savy not to Joe who takes my orders at Burger King.
I’m interested in using Caller ID spoofing in order to maintain the feeling that I have only one number for people to call me on. When I use VOIP and simul ring both my VOIP phone and my cell phone ring at the same time, but when I call someone from my cell, the cell’s number would appear on the other end and I’d like to see my only the VOIP number appear.
Caller ID spoofing has been around for a long time. It’s just easier now with VOIP providers and the Internet. There are even tutorials for setting up your own Caller ID spoofing server (http://www.gadgettrail.com/2005/01/06/do-it-yourself-caller-id-spoofing/).
