MacBook Pro Packaging, originally uploaded by andrewe.

Oddly thin packaging of MacBook Pro’s. Supposed internal shots from the Cupertino campus. Is Apple trying to save mother nature by using less packaging material?

Me too!!! Damn I want a mac book pro!!!! *kicking the powerbook*

uhh, I’m not sure why anyone would want one of these things yet. First of all, the first version of anything is guaranteed to be filled with bugs + cost more. Second, Apple is not even releasing how long the battery lasts (it’s gotta be about an hour). Thirdly, most of the big software companies aren’t even wasting their time re-releasing software for Intel Macs until a 1-2 years from now. Dunno, maybe it’s just me :-\

Actually, Matt, Lots of universal apps are being released every day. I have an intel iMac and the “big” apps like Photoshop run fine if you have enough ram. I have a Gig and photoshop runs just as fast as on my friends G5 iMac with the same amount. The only difference is when the next version is released I’ll be the one with a noticeable speed increase. Apple’s pro apps will be out in a month or two, that’s all I’m waiting for. The speed of these machines are undeniable.

Also I heard the battery time is the same as the last powerbooks. It has a new Lithium polymer battery that has increased capacity but the brighter screen and Dual core neutralized the benefit of the battery

is it just me or is no one else excited about hacking up some XP or getting vista loaded on one of these bad boys…. it is a top priority for me

Yeah, not really. Maybe a Dual-Boot senario with an external HD for testing flash or web dev, but not for daily running…
