		<description>I never use monkeys because they tend to be unpredictable, children are easier to take advantage off, all ya need is pay as you go phone credit and chocolate.</description>

I think you can get a monkey for pretty cheap now adays... just train him.</description>

		<description>write a simple script in c, to ping the server from another server..... if its down have it email your cell every x minutes until its back up

thats what we do.. but a little more complex, because it checks the ssh / apache / etc..</description>
