Lets boil it down for you. Basically the RIAA is petitioning the US Government to sanction Russia for not properly protecting copyright law, and respecting intellectual property, by harboring AllofMP3.com.
The RIAA has always been nibbling at the heals of AoMP3, which was recently ruled legal in Russia – based upon a loophole, and now the only means the RIAA has to attack is to petition Governments.
I use that site on a daily basis. I love it!
AllOfMP3.com Rocks ! I love it and use it all the time.
From what I understand, our government can’t do much more than to maybe put some sort of embargo on Russia, as copyright law is not international, our government has rule over other countries laws…. aside from our current occupied state.
The relentlessness of the RIAA never ceases to amaze me! :(
Next they’ll want the ISP’s to censor that site from us…. and there goes freedom of speach (unless that speach is recorded, copyrighted and the RIAA stands to make money from it)
good luck RIAA/BPI – i for one am glad that sites like AllOfMP3 exist, if only to reinforce to the recording industry that music lovers don’t like being ripped off.
i can’t believe the number of people who willingly open their wallets to Apple etc when they are paying retail for a CD – without getting the cd !!!
no distribution costs, no reproduction costs…and it costs the same ?
if a site of equivalent quality came along that charged double of AllOfMP3 but pledged to pay the extra to the artists I would use that instead.
recording companies wake up.
