Windows defender, formally Microsoft Antispyware – is out in Beta 2.

Windows Defender (Beta 2) is a free program that helps protect your computer against pop-ups, slow performance, and security threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software. It features Real-Time Protection, a monitoring system that recommends actions against spyware when it’s detected, and a new streamlined interface that minimizes interruptions and helps you stay productive.

Just installed and its teaming up with onecare to fight internet baddies on a very much flawed OS that is XP. I feel a little uneasy ;) about having nothing but MS antivirus software running. All things going smoothly, but it is lagging a little.

if windows users are able to get a copy of nod32 (paid antivirus), i highly recommend. light on system resources and updated daily. i have never had a virus problem running nod32.

AVG Antivirus has met my need so far. Plus they have a free version.. and it’s fairly light on resources. http://free.grisoft.com

I have had no anti spyware programs running on here in about a month since I got this laptop, not one bit of spyware. I though I had mcafee but nope its not on as it turns out. There was no microsoft antispyware running either.

Reason for having no spyware: Firefox.

I think that is enough said for firefox, and I haven’t just been going onto all the shopping websites and a few forums either.

Just scanned nothing, Also AV NOD32!
