Are Last.fm and Pandora falling short of expectations? Is the idea of a new free music service knocking?

My recent hardrive mishap forced me into experimenting with new options regarding music at home. Of late, I’ve relied on the web based Pandora (created by The Music Genome Project). All in all, I have to say that I am utterly impressed with the players ability to select songs at random which surpisingly meet my listening tastes.

Late last evening I caught wind of a new “beta” service by the name of Musio. Similar to Last.fm and Pandora, Musio aims at providing its users with a means of acquring recommended audio tracks. The greatest feature offered by the Musio service is the downloadable desktop music player. I call it a music filterer. The player will detect recently played tracks through your favorite media player as well as portable devices. The track information is then “captured” and used by the Muiso database to provide recommended music. Worth a look for Windows users.

I am from the Muiso team, and this is our first ever review! Neat! I welcome you to come try out the download and service – its in pretty early beta, but moving fast.

Muiso is a social music companion that integrates the music you love with the people that love you. Cryptic? I have to be for now – lol.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me.

Thanks for the link! We are working away on the site! (It’s kind of funny as of now..) but the application is really looking great!

Windows only for now, but it supports:
    iTunes
    Win Media Player
    Winamp
    Napster
    Yahoo
    Pandora
    and more…

Updates to come – we’d love some feedback in our forums!

i noticed it worked with pandora. the problem was that tracks were not being reflected properly in the musio app. any track changes in pandora were displayed as question marks in the musio player.

    i see some potential though…

Excellent program, I’ve been using it since I saw the link over here…

Great job, updates everyday, and the database is growing each day.
