Ok, this is just pure wild specualtion, but photos have surfaced with an Apple SIM in a cellphone.

Sure, anyone with any photoshop skills could make this up. But this could be the culmination of the years of Apple as a cell company rumors, we all know how Apple is cozying up to Cingular these days.

But does it make sense for Apple?

    i say definitely photoshopped. however, apple will involve itself in the mobile handset arena. not as a service provider (as the image above would speculate), but as a vendor manufacturing handsets powered by an in-house developed architecture.

  2. That’s nuts, the margin in the mobile industry is vanishingly small, and Apple are used to much larger profits-per-unit. Unlike the iPod they’d be entering a mature market place as well, they wouldn’t stand a chance, an ‘IPhone” certainly wouldn’t be the next iPod. It’d just be one more handset, probably not as good as the latest Nokia.

    in europe you can buy aftermarket sim cards with more memory, multiple accounts, I guess you can also get cool pictures
