Newsvine – Aggregation and discussion [Invites]
This post was published 4 years 2 months 4 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Evan hooked me up with a beta invite to the latest news aggregation / creation service by the name of Newsvine. At the moment, the service is a closed beta requiring beta accounts to create and comment on news items.

Anyone who follows AP (Associated Press) articles on a daily basis will enjoy Newsvine which purportedly “indexes [articles] faster than any site on the web”. Newsvine also serves as a medium to discuss / chat with other users in regards to specific articles. In addition, individuals have the opportunity to become citizen journalists while turning a profit from ad revenue directly from Newsvine.
At the moment, activity on the site is limited to registered beta members. Fortunately, I do have invites available. For our readers who have a genuine interest in the service, drop a comment with your reason(s) why the service entices you.
Reading news is always good. This will help to narrow the important news from the crap.
I would like an invite because I am a news junkie…which is why i’ve visited this site daily for the last few months.

I would also like a invite because I would like to learn more and I love to read the news whenever I have time and this website seems to be a good website for news info.
Can any feed be added to it or is it mainly AP articles? What are your thoughts on it and why should we WANT an invite! ;) (for the record, I want one)
I would like to have an account because I like reading news and this sounds pretty good :p
I like reading the news, so just give me a damn invite already.
Yo’ Derek, hit me up. Ive been checking this site out (newsvine) and it seems pretty nice. id love to go check it out.
I am a poli sci major and need to keep up to date alot. AP is a good source and would fit right in.
tan, vernon, albert, jay, viper, patrick, benji, and ryan, i just sent the newsvine invites out. check your inbox (or spam folder).
as far as jay’s question is concerned.. i personally believe that the service is a godsend for internet uses who utilize the net for news and nothing else. as you can imagine i am already trolling my feed reader and have no need for another aggregator service which updates with stories which i may already have been subscribed to. the ability to interact with other readers is something that may be of interest. i guess the whole service can be viewed as one giant blog maintained by individual users. the ability to submit your own “news” (and the potential to get paid) is awesome… but not really something i have time for. maybe you guys can test the service and chime in with your thoughts?
Thanks Derek, I’ll be checking it out tonight. I’m definitely looking forward to the interacting part of it. As far as submitting news, well, I’ll leave that to the “professionals”. :)
Thanks, pal.
Can I have an Invite? Oh, crap, I was the one that gave you the invite! Neener neener! :P
Thanks bro
lol, is that Ryan and Evan from TagWorld by chance?I’ve used Newsvine off and on for the last day or two and I think it’s great so far… but one sort of odd thing I’ve noticed (in the ‘entertainment’ section), they have it broken up into sub-sections like ‘people’, ‘movies, etc… But they have ‘TV’ AND ‘Television’ (which is odd enough) and also a ‘FOX’ section… why FOX? Are they a site sponsor or something? Any ideas?
yes, we’ve got some readers hailing from tagworld.
I would like to test drive the new newsvine, anyone have an extra invite?
Thanks in advance
Bill
bill. invite sent. enjoy.
What? I never used tagworld, gonna sign up now, but I’m not that Evan. Sorry :-/
