‘Leap second’ subject of long debate

For those in the know, on New Years Day, we were luck enough to be given an extra second due to many scientific things of which I could never understand or explain.

HOWEVER it seems that this sparked QUITE a debate.

Some experts think the leap second should be abolished because the periodic, but random, adjustment of time imposes unreasonable and perhaps dangerous disruptions on precision software applications including cell phones, air traffic control and power grids.

(See I told you this makes no sense!)

Honestly, with the bickering that is happening that extra second of life seemingly has gone to waste.

Get rid of them I say.

For the extra second that I lived in 2005 was wasted in 2006 when I spent the better part of New Years Day fixed the problems it caused with our database servers . . .
