The vice president is an iPod fan, and keeping it charged is a priority for his staff. [...]Working passengers began lining up their laptops to share the power from a couple of working outlets — particularly the reporters who urgently needed to prepare their articles to transmit during a quick refueling stop in England.
But when Cheney said his iPod needed to be recharged, it took precedent above all else and dominated one precious outlet for several hours. The vice president’s press staff intervened so a reporter could use the outlet for 15 minutes to charge a dead laptop, but then the digital music device was plugged back in.
We won’t even discuss the fact that as Cheney relaxed comfortably within a “silver bullet” mobile home strapped inside the cargo hold, his aids and secret service were forced to sit outside the unit in cramped / cold quarters.
What an ass, he could’ve used the USB port on one of the running but plugged in laptops to charge it. He better not be keeping top sekrit info on his iPod.
I don’t believe there was only one outlet. wherever I’ve seen one outlet, there have been many others… On the other hand if this were true, then how many of the reporters now carry a splitter or power strip?
or the better question. why wasn’t dick charging his ipod in his private mobile home. i’m sure if they took the time to strap one inside the cargo plane, they would make sure it was fully powered.
