BetterSearch Firefox extension

Yet another recommended Firefox extension. I promise that once I get the whole “Firefox 1.5 officially released” out of my head the rabid Firefox posts will subside (#1, #2, #3). The BetterSearch extension adds a series of productive features sure to enhance your browsing experience.

An extension for Firefox which enhances Google (all international flavours, too), MSN Search, Yahoo Search, A9, Answers.com, AllTheWeb, Dogpile.com, del.icio.us and Simpy.com bookmarks by adding previews (thumbnails) and Amazon product images and info (type, price, rating) as well as “Open in New Window”, “Site Info”, “Wayback Machine” links and a Quick Preview feature to the search results.

BetterSearch is a definite “must install” for Firefox users. The “Quick Preview” option will be your new favorite. I can almost guarantee it.

Try It

As a side note for new Firefox 1.5 users, draggable tabs is now a standard feature (which once required a standalone extension). Re-order open tabs by dragging the tab horizontally to its new home. [You'll see a little arrow signifying where the tab will land on release.]
