How does everyone feel about the recent uninvited AIM bots added to everyones buddy lists? I like to think that AOL meant well by adding informational bots to our buddy lists.

Similar to interactive bots, immedi.at provides instant notification of updated Atom or RSS feeds directly to your desktop via instant message.

immedi.at helps you to keep track of online information as it changes. It sends you an instant message whenever any RSS or Atom feed you want to monitor changes. (Don’t know what RSS or Atom are? Click here.)

immedi.at works with all major IM carriers including MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, Jabber, and AIM/ICQ.

The service is in beta so expect a few glitches or unstable service. The process of receiving syndicated updates is as easy as clicking a ‘monitor this’ bookmarklet. You’ll receive an instant message from immedi.at after which you can add the contact to your buddy list.
