Time to hang your heads in shame

This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.I could have sworn that there was some sort of anti-getting-your- ass-kicked-shamefully rule established in high school sports. I vaguely recall having our games ended once a obvious ass kicking had been handed out. But this? This basketball game was a massacre. The winning team leading 42-0 by the end of the first quarter?! Good god, toss the damn towel in and treat the kids out for some pizza!!!
“It was embarrassing to watch,” Earlsboro coach Jim Walling told The Oklahoman. “But you can’t just tell your kids not to score. I’ve been coaching 27 years and have never been involved in something like this.”
There have to be a few readers out there with children. What would your reactions be for a game that ended with a final score of 112-2? A team is only as strong as its leader [ahem coach?]
In a pro game surely the coach would get fired. I think its time they did the same.
I disagree with giving kids a false view of sportsmanship, they need to know that from time to time you get ure ass handed to you on a plate, and people laugh at you etc.
However, 112-2 is a little excessive, they should have made the last 3/4 of the game a bit more fun by only letting the winning team have half of there players at any one time of something.
At least then they would of had a fighting chance!!!
