Government to wiretap your cellphone while driving?

Driving to work, you notice the traffic beginning to slow. And because you have your cell phone on, the government senses the delay, too.
Okay, we know cell phones can be tracked VERY easily…
In what would be the largest project of its kind, the Missouri Department of Transportation is finalizing a contract to monitor thousands of cell phones, using their movements to map real-time traffic conditions statewide on all 5,500 miles of major roads. It’s just one of a number of initiatives to more intelligently manage traffic flow through wireless data collection.
Okay, this is scary stuff!
we should get some kind of discount for the use of data provided by cell phones that we pay for. or have the option to not provide the service with info.
It anonymous tracking… as loong as they remain transparent about that that fact, I am fine with it. Think of the data you would get: true traffic patterns of migratory humans. We could improve public transit, re-develop land in a useful way… I think this has great potential and I hope the information is available to civil engineers in research so that it is used properly.
im doing this subject for debat, and what you have here isnt enough. you need good solid information. You dont need to track or tap cell phones to study traffic patterns of humans anyways. im sure you could find other wys. talk about someting of more importance.
