Why is everyone nitpicking 320px videos?
This post was published 4 years 5 months 6 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. With the announcement of the new iPod w/ video playback, the notion of 320px videos as being less than adequate has surfaced here and there across the net. Who really cares right? I think the following quote sums up my thoughts exactly:
No one bitches about ringtones not being done in Dolby-frigging-surroundTHXomgwtfbbq-epic-orgasm-sounding bass, now do we? No.
How come stereos don’t have the ’surroundTHXomwtfbbq’ badge on their front cases?
Why is everyone nitpicking 320px video?
Derek over at uneasy silence summed it up nicely, read the quote within the quote….
With the announcement of the new iPod w/ video playback, the notion of 320px videos as being less than adequate has surfaced here and there across the net. Who …
my problem is I have 600 music videos. apple commercials and keynotes dating back 15 years and 60gbs of pornography. i have to reencode all of those to fit the screen insttead of (like photos) iTunes will not just resize them to work on iPod.
at the same rate, i will watch half of “lost” on the iPod and finish it at home i can’t wath a 320 video on even my iBook, seriously.
So… when are qualtity ring tones going to be avaible? and I’m I don’t want to spend $$ per tone either.
Um, lets see, because your paying $1.99 for something that you could get for free on bittorrent in “Dolby-frigging-surroundTHXomgwtfbbq-epic-orgasm-
sounding bass”-or at least better than 320px which sucks ass. Why are you defending Apples rediculous scam to charge the same for a 3 min music video as they do for a full 1 hr show!!! (i know they edit out the commercials so don’t correct me on that)
>60gbs of pornography
WOW – How do you accumulate that.
Also, could you email me about the keynotes.
Look, Apple is smart enough to know that most peoples videos aren’t 320px. Im sure that they are gonna release either a firmware for the iPod that automaticly resizes them, or release a new version for iTunes to resize them. Trust me, no company can overlook something of this magnitude.
About the pricing, I fully agree (from the customers point of view) Look at the price of the Music Videos. $1.99 for mabey a 4min video and sound clip. Now look at the price for the Shows, $1.99 for a whole episode, now if you dont think thats a reasonable price, then may you be slapped with 100 salmon. But, I disagree with Apple, they should have rased the price of the shows. People would still buy them, even if they didnt have an iPod. But, pricing them at $1.99 is going to cost the company a lot of money in the long run.
I didn’t adress the fact that people wanted to watch the videos on their computer.
First of all, these videos were designed for the iPod, don’t shoot me. But, as I stated before, Apple will, most likley, introudce a way to download a larger size resolution video, and then convert it when you port it to the iPod.
