RSS readers to start blocking advertisements?

This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Niall pointed out that the latest NewsFire OSX desktop client now supports Google / FeedBurner adblocking. The release notes can be found here. I can understand the reason for offering users the ad blocking feature. Although the small text ads are less intrusive then conventional banner advetisements, they’ve taken something away from the experience of filtering through syndicated content.
Niall noted that the option to view ads is not offered in NewsFire preferences. If applications / services begin supporting adblocking features – similar to using the Firefox / Adblock combination – users should have the option to view advertisements.
Speaking of RSS feeds. This website has a quirky bug I have noticed. I can always read the stories throught the feed before they are on the site.
That’s kind of amusing… I’ve noticed that posts show show up in my feed reader about 5 – 10 minutes after they’re set to post.
Does this mean bloglines can see the future? The answer is yes.
And what does the future hold for Bloglines? Advertisements injected on top of subscriptions?
