Firefox – Screen Grab!

Here’s an handy Firefox extension for grabbing quick full webpage screenshots. The Screen Grab extension adds a right-click contextual menu with three options: ‘Save document as image’, ‘Save viewport as image’, and ‘Save window as image’. The ‘Save document’ will grab a screenshot of a entire webpage. ‘Save viewport’ will capture the visible areas of a webpage while the ‘Save window as image does the same while including your browser window. Java is required. Images are saved in the PNG format.
There are a few bugs. For example, Screen Grab does not render repeating background images fluidly. Instead, you’ll notice that background images set to repeat will show up as blocks. It also doesn’t play well with frames. I tried to capture a full page screenshot of my Gmail account and it only captured what was visible. If you’re on OSX, you might want to try Paparazzi which captures full page screenshots perfectly. I had to prune the thumbnail to keep it contained. Click for a full preview.
