Lazy del.icio.us bastards have hope

So you’re still dragging your feet when it comes to tagging your del.icio.us marks appropriately? Still requires a little too much thinking huh? What with all the fancy bookmarklets floating around, you still can’t muster the motivation to spend the 2 seconds it takes to post a webpage to your del.icio.us account with a decent description and helpful tags? I know, we all have our own uses for del.icio.us.

What would you say if I told you that each of you could have your own little del.icio.us “butler”? An automated process whith minimal requirements on your part… I’m talking about the Lazy Sheep bookmarklet. This thing will post a page to your del.icio.us account, add a description (if you don’t select text from the page yourself), and automatically tag your link. That’s right, all you need to do is click the Lazy Sheep bookmark in your toolbar.

An initial setup is required before adding the bookmarklet to your toolbar. Test it out for yourself and check to see if you like the results. Any marks submitted using Lazy Sheep will borrow descriptions and tags from other del.icio.us users. I noticed that Lazy Sheep is very liberal with tagging so you may end up with a bigger mess to sort through in the end. I opted to stick with John Resig’s quick post bookmarklet.
