iColorFolder – Color your ugly bastard folders

One of the small details that OSX users enjoy is the ability to color code individual folders. Now, some of you might be saying “whooptie doo, colored folders. Wow!” in a sarcastic tone. Some may find the following utility pointless, while others find it practical and helpful for their own organizational needs. The problem with generic folders on today’s operating systems is that they’re all the same. Windows users know it best. That defualt manila folder looking thing over-populating your desktop and My Documents folder is one ugly bastard. That is of course assuming you haven’t taken the extra time to customize your individual icons.

iColorFolder is a little Open-Source app which allows you to change the color of your folder with only a right-clic. Actually, it basically simulates the Color Label feature of Macs. It is fast (written in C++, and doesn’t stay in memory) [...]

iColorFolder does one thing and one thing right. It adds a right-click contextual meny option for Windows users to color code your generic folders. Instead of having your work, personal, and miscellaneous folders all using the same yellowish folder, why not assign a unique color to each?

This is a good program; the only problem with it is that if you use it on an external HD or usb, the colors won’t show in other computers. I personally use LabelsWin Lite, it dose a better job with this. Although it hasn’t have an updated for a long time ago.

I’m not sure why I like this little program, but damn its kinda nice :) I like the Longhorn skin, just a bit different from the normal blah blah blah.

Too bad it looks like “Red” is spelled “Read” in the screenshot.

LOL.. I didn’t think anyone would notice that. It still works, minus the tiny spelling mistake.

Ohh noo this thing only installs for 1 useraccount… how to get it working for ALL USERS?
