Alright. I admit that Windows does have a decent built in option for capturing desktop screenshots. If you look down at your keyboard, find the PrtSc [Print Screen] key. Pressing that key will copy your current desktop – program windows, wallpaper, anything that you see on your screen – to the clipboard. To make use of the “screen capture” you’ll have to open up Paint (yuck) or Photoshop. Edit to suit and save. This is great, but a tad tedious.

I for one, prefer a utility by the name of MWSnap. It’s free. It’s lightweight. And it has a great feature set including keyboard shortcuts and multiple file formats including: jpg, bmp, gif, png, and tif.

Quick screencapture of UNEASYforums. Options to capture rectangular areas, any rectangular area, windows, menus, and full desktops.
