Of all the fancy web projects using the Google Maps API, I have to say that this one is by far the most entertaining. To be honest all the other mashups were starting to get a little old. I mean, it’s great to be able to attack Redmond (Microsoft) with little animated .GIFs, or locate free WiFi Hotspots in your area. The whole wow factor was settling and I was about to forget the fascination I had with Google Maps.

HotOrNot meets Google Maps

Suddenly, that wow factor returned (temporarily). If you’ve been on the net for more then a month, chances are you’ve heard of or visited websites like HotOrNot. Blah Blah Blah… insecure or overly secure internet users post images of themselves and have other users rate them. Old news… That is until you put Google Maps and HotOrNot together. It’s too bad your neighbors can’t post their images thinking no one will know where they live. According to the map I have a few HotOrNot users in my neighborhood. “Excuse me ma’am, I noticed you have a decent rating on HotOrNot, could I borrow some sugar?”
