Where’s my FREE Coca-Cola?!

You won a free liter of Coke but you’ll never get it you freeloading bastard! Yes I have 10 more of these worthless caps.
I think the only reason I found this write-up humorous is because I can relate with the author. Maybe you’re sitting in the same boat? The bickering is brought about due to the fact that the “You Win 1-Liter Coke Product” lids on Coca-Cola products are near impossible to redeem. Like the author, I have 11 free 1-liter lids which I haven’t been able to redeem.
You’re reduced, essentially, to begging for a dollar (or $1.50-1.75, usually) from a diffident cashier or a put-upon manager, when it’s obvious that you can afford it, you cheap bastard, trying to get something for nothing.
You see, I’m all about getting my free products. Is anyone else out there getting shunned by grocery stores saying they won’t redeem your Coke bottle caps? Coca-Cola, you’re doing a piss poor job of rewarding your loyal Coke drinkers with their much deserved freebies. I might just have to try my luck with Pepsi-ucks if I don’t receive my free liters!
I am not getting my fair share of winning caps. I probably get a winning cap for every 30 bottles I buy. Yes, I buy that many. And since I’m so used to getting loser caps I’ll forget and throw it in the recycle bin with the bottle. That 1 in 12 on the label taunts me. At least I now know I’m not missing anything since the c-stores don’t redeem them anyway.
I might as well make sure tossing the caps is part of the usual routine. I happened to get a free cap every other bottle. It’s lame that stores aren’t redeemed them.
If you call Coke at 1-800-489-6602, they’ll ask if you live near a set of locations. If you don’t, they’ll send you coupons for 2-liter bottles, depending on how many caps you have (i.e. have 10 caps, get 5 coupons).
I read on the bottle free coke for every 8 caps. how do I redeem these?
