Googlers choose to settle in Atherton, CA

Here’s a little collection of information which will probably make average citizens jaws drop. Atherton California… Ever heard of the place? Me neither. Anyway, Google employees have been unloading shares of Google stock to snatch up snazzy estates in the 94027 community (now the most expensive neighborhood in the country).

Some jaw dropping sales of inside stocks:

Google’s senior vice president Omid Kordestanti has sold over 82% of his stock already, for a grand total of about 259 million dollars [...]

That should buy a nice cozy house with a swimming pool right? Check out the Google Maps satellite image here. It looks like you’re not a normal Athertonian without a swimming pool & tennis court.

    my uncle lives there and i’ve been to homes in Atherton all over.. very nice homes all around. Damn, I didn’t know it was the most expensive neighborhood

    I guess Atherton is the new Beverly Hills? Once homes start getting into the $10+ million price range, I start wondering if it’s really neccassary for that extravagant a house. I think I would rather have multiple lesser homes spread out across the world…
