What’s in your Firefox?

It’s Firefox extension sharing time… So here are the current extensions loaded in my main and portable copy of Firefox.

Ablock – Block pesky ads. Visit this page regularly for updated Adblock rules.

Tabbrowser Preferences – Adds a plethora of tabbed browsing options to the Firefox Options menu.

LastTab – Alt + Tab between your current tab and last viewed tab.

FireFTP – Integrated and lightweight FTP client.

SuperDragandGo – Highlight text on webpages and drag to search Google. Alternatively, force links to open in new windows with a simple drag. Especially useful for sites which insist on re-using the same window.

Spellbound – Because no one likes sloppy spellers. Grammer? Bite me. Spell check web forms, comment boxes, and forum posts with a simple right-click context menu. Don’t forget the dictionary databases here.

BugMeNot – Bypass annoying registration screens. Essential for most mainstream news sources, ect.

ScrollbarAnywhere – Vertical and horizontal scrolling while holding down the right-click mouse button. A lot more useful then then using the scrollwheel.

Livelines & Bloglines Toolkit – Full Bloglines integration into your Firefox browser. Add feeds to your Bloglines account using the Livelines status bar button.

Menu Editor – Remove extraneous menu and context menu items. Veteran Firefox users don’t need the File, Go, and Help menu bar items (Use keyboard shortcuts).

Disable Targets for Downloads – Disables that annoying extra window / tab opened by binary download links.

IE View – Because some people insist on force feeding web users IE only content or designs.

Web Developer – Essential tool for examining webpages (web designers need this!)

WellRounded – Mentioned here. Turns that square edged URL and Search box into smooth rounded goodness.

GreaseMonkey – Add bits of DHTML to personalize webpages for enhanced browsing.

Are there any other extensions worth mentioning that other readers should consider?

Forcastfox – weather forcasts in any toolbar or status bar
Flashblock – Replaces flash objects with a button you can click to view
downTHEMall! – Filter the extentions of all the links present in a page and download them

too lazy to find links… google them :)

  2. The “Add Bookmark Here” extension. Great for keeping your favorites organized.

Is there really an advantage to installing “Add Bookmark Here”? Why not hit the CTRL + D keycombo to pop up a bookmark window?

Hey hessam I’m having trouble with DTA. I have a web page with quite a number of thumbnails *tisk tisk* I just want to download the linked images without having to click on each one. What settings need to be tweaked?
