Arial vs. Helvetica

That screen capture doesn’t do Helvetica justice.

I had no idea that Arial was a rip-off of Helvetica. After all the years of toying with Windows I had never realized the similarities between the two typefaces. I guess Helvetica came first, then Microsoft “borrowed” it for Windows and renamed it Arial.

Take the test and see for yourself if you’re able to successfully differentiate between the two typefaces. Taking the test made me go out and look for every Helvetica font I could find. My personal favorite has always been HelveticaNeue.
