$330 million dollar fireworks show

For the sake of science! NASA plans on crashing a spacecraft into a comet [on purpose]. The motivation behind this little expirement? To gain a better understanding of what comets are made of. You know, NASA could hire me for a million and I’ll tell them the comet is made of rock and ice hard enough to obliterate their little toy.

The encounter, at roughly 23,000 mph, is expected to kick up dust and leave behind a large crater, though scientists don’t know for sure just what will happen since they have never attempted anything like this before.

They’re not sure what’s going to happen?! Come on NASA, I’ll save you $329 million.

    damn that’s expensive. There has to be a better use of a spacecraft. But then again what do I know?

    I think it’s bad idea, consequences can be unpredictable.
