Intel’s munching on Apples

It seems Steve’s disappointment in IBM’s inability to meet Apple’s demand for the next generation Power PC chip has provoked him to look elsewhere. As PC manufacturers continue stuffing faster and more capable chips into laptops, Apple has nothing left to do but drop a G5 chip into its iBook/Powerbook line. Apple’s current problem with today’s G5 chip is heat. No one wants to keep a hotplate on their laps.

I don’t think Apple would ever plaster an ‘Intel Inside’ sticker on its beautiful machines… This was just for kicks. Look for the announcement tomorrow.

    I still can’t imagine such a drastic switch to occur.

    Well remember that XBOX development was done on the Power PC architecture. I imagine Intel could meet Apple’s needs and expectations.
