No PDA! Public display of affection

Public displays of affection are against the rules at Sky View Middle School in Bend, and 14-year-old Cazz Altomare found that out the hard way. She got detention earlier this year after hugging her boyfriend in the hallway as he headed to lunch and she went to gym class.
Its the same way at our school. its in the school handbook, no “excessive public display of affection” which means hugging to closely. its kinda funny to see and old teacher after two kids making out. the rule isnt very seriously enforced though, except by that mildly humerous old teacher.
Hey im calyx….well i have a few things to say 1st im in 7th grade, and im luving it, right now im doing a write on what rules i would like changed at my school and thats how i came across this site. And pda is one of the many rules i would like to change! To start out with…..i think that a certain ammount of pda should b aloud. For example….at my school were bearlly even aloud to give 5 fives anymore! Thats the most pahtic thing i have ever heard of….bak in elementry school huggin was a way of saying “Hello” Its not a harmless thing.Dont get me wrong im not all for this freedom of the school. I think certain extents of pda should be outlawed like making out but other wise that simple lil kisses dont hurt anyone!
we are having a debate for PDA.. if does it need to be prohibited in school.. i have a couple of ideas or so but i just need to gather lots of informations and opinions from other for i belong in the negative side…
We are having a debate in english for PDA…. and i got put on the negative side!! But i think pda shouldnt be allowed beacause some people will take it to far.. but then again i think it should be allowed because some people just like showing there affection to someone they love!! I got a detention for holding hands in the hall way then my boyfriend gave me a kiss on the cheek and we got a detention for an hour.. now thats retarded!! Teachers take it to far as long as your not doing more thena kiss or hug its fine…..

Hey people out there. Who ever is listening, listen harder because I am gonna tell you about a little something called PDA. PDA in schools is the most stupidest rule that I have ever heard of. People/couples should be able to express how they feel about there boyfriend or girlfriend or any other relationship that you may have inside of school. Some people dont get to see there BF or GF outside of school. Most schools are too self-conscious about people expressing there love to one onother. Personally, I think that, that is dumb. Kids should enjoy there time at school in the little of 7 hours a day and not ahving to worry about what is right and what is wrong. Now and days teachers get you in trouble over things like holding hands, pop-kissing, french kissing, hugging, or even kissing on the cheak good-bye. Why do people obsess over little, tiny, microscopic things like independence. Dont we deserve a littlebit of freedon? Cant we go to school and kiss our lovers without having to look over your back every single second trying to prevent chaos or ISS or suspenton? People are nerve recking and too stricked to let some kids have there freedom. All I ask of teacher in this world is to let kids be kids wile they can. To let them have some independancy in our lives. PLEASE try to think about the possiblities and no think about the nagatives about PDA. This has been great lesson for some people, I hope.
yea the same rule is here at hoke county high school in raeford nc. me and my boyfriend was caught kissing the regular way and hugging and we got five days to the house for that. i don’t think it was right but it was the rule and you should follow them.
i’m doing a persuasive speech on PDA, and yeah at my school same thing “no PDA.” I think tht’s a stupid rule, but then again everyone ignores it. People only get in trouble if they’re like french kissing in front of the administration office. Hugging, holdings hands and stuff usually don’t get u in trouble.
Ya, I have the PDA policy at my school and it really sucks! You can’t even go and hug your friend, hold hands, or anything!!! My friends and I will Hug and yell out “PDA” and everyone just stares at us! For stuff like hugging, the rule isn’t that bad, but if your kissing or making-out, then you will get a refferral!! The PDA policy is the most retarded rule ever!!!!!
I have the pda rule at my scholl and the first time u get caught its a warning the second time it does not matter what your doing you get suspended for a minamum of two days and i think it sucks this is coming from an 8th graader at gordon russell in oregon i dont have a problem with the rule itself its the exstent that it goes to i think we should have boundries but we shoud atleast be able to hold hands with the one we love
It’s the same at my school. I also kinds found out the hard way. My english teach caught me kissing my boyfriend and she’s making me write a paper about PDA in school. I got off easy, she could of given me ISS which is the max. punishment in my school.
yeah i think its really dumb,too!!! like me and my boyfriend will be just hugging and like the teachers would be all over us!!! and in an assembly we can’t even hold hands!!!its dumb!!!!!
Yea i agree PDA rules are kind of stupid. I am doing a paper on it also for a class. I chose this topic and feel about the same way as you all do. I feel that you should be able to hold hands and hug and get that innocent kiss in if you can, but thats about it. I mean if you are gunna make out infront of everyone i think you should get in trouble for that. Everyday i see 2 couples and it makes me sick!! i want to barf. Personally groping eachother and all that jazz isnt cool in my eyes. If you want to go home and do that than go ahead please spare my eyes. I dont want to go blind in the future from these nasty sites i must see everyday. There is an extent that the “NO PDA” rule should go to. Getting in trouble for holding hands or hugging isnt one of them. That is way to far and pretty stupid if you ask me. There is a time and a place for making out and groping your “loved” one, and as for all of you in younger grades that are “in love” (well mainly to the boys) but think with the right head. if you agree please write back. Well at my school you can show a slight bit of PDA but thats it they allow holding hands hugs and very short kisses well im 18 now and on my girlfriends 18th b-day i gave hera fairly long kiss before school and i got arreseted for it because some @$$bag reported it and the superintendent said that she was underage for me… What the heck she turned 18 at 4:27 that morning… how is she underage……..the school also claims that i was forcing her to kiss me……now i have to go to court for this.. but im not worried cause she was 18 when it happened…but still my school is too worried about everyone elses business
My girlfriend and I are the only ones here in batesville that have to keep 3 feet between us at all times. everyone i know has hugged or kissed in front of the principal or school officer but we are the only ones to get in trouble for it….. I don’t see what there problem is with me, i have done nothing to upset them this year or last but they only get on to my girlfriend and i.. anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be??

i think PDA rules should be relaxed, im in high school and the teachers at my school are very strict about PDA. if we hug one of the opposite gender friends we get PDA. ive gotten PDA a few times, with my boyfriend for giving a quick hug goodbye when we went to our class’s. i think PDA rules are stupid, they should at least be okay with a quick kiss on the cheek or a hug. making out in school in front of ppl is gross, show some respect to the teachers and students.
i think PDA is ok unless it gets out of control. It should be ok to give a friend a hug. that shows respect and your care. I also think that a kiss is ok, on your way to class, kissing your BF or GF goodbye. But often you see tons of other things going on in the middle of the hallways at school and its very disturbing and rude! It can really offend someone, more than people think. Showing passion for your boyfriend or girlfriend or friends is ok, but please take it down a notch and be respectful to everyone else!
I agree with all of you completely. I also am doing a paper for english. Pda should be an allowed thing in school to some extent. i persoanlly believe that it should be encourage. People always seem like they are happier if they can share that quick hug or kiss and it makes the days alot easier. It also knocks back alot on all the hate would the schools rather have us throwing punches. I think there is a point where it becomes to much but hugging holding hands or that innocent kiss should be completely allowed we should not be punished for what the poeple who abuse PDA do.
