There is no difference between leather sneakers and a leather pillow. My family raises a cow every year to slaughter and eat. The cow gets a good life: well fed, lovingly cared for, and we get a freezer full of meat. Animals are not people. The reason we have so many pet behavior problems is people anthropomorphizing their pet animals and treating/thinking they're people. They're not, they're animals. It's no different with animal products. Even those of you who claim a zebra rug is vile have no doubt used products or benefited from medicine that was tested on or made from animals. Wake up to reality. Stop sleepwalking through life.

[...] Recycling hair to create functional furniture? For some reason, news of a recycled hair chair reminds me of the pet hair pillows that we covered last year. Hair trimmings at barbershops and beauty salons are often swept up and discarded. But a former London hairdresser, who is now a researcher at London South Bank University, has found a use for the excess cuttings — a chair made out of human hair. [...]

Good grief! The shipping description alone makes me want to hurl. I cannot believe that this idea has propped up, but then again, some strange people will likely love having their pets remembered this way. Someone obviously has way too much time on their hands. A pillow from your pet?! yeesh.

Oh well, I guess there really is a market for everything!
