Seems to me that if a plane has sat around long enough that they federal guidelines dictate they have to change crews…everyone else should get a break and be allowed off of the plane as well. I’ve sat on my fair share of planes that were delayed for one reason or another and there is nothing fun about it. One flight I was on we all threatened to open the emergency exit so that we could go back to the terminal until they were ready to take off. That was the flight I learned that airline crews are paid by the minute starting as soon as the plane door closes. That’s why an on time departure means they left the gate on time…not left the ground on time. All of those people definitely have my sympathy.
