TV networks aim at messing up your TiVo

Television networks are lending new meaning to time-shifting: TV shows don’t necessarily start or end right on the hour or half-hour anymore, screwing up some viewers’ video recordings. More programs are running an extra minute or two longer to keep viewers from switching channels.

I guess the networks aren’t to happy with their viewers pre-recording shows. Cheap shot if you ask me.

    Never had any trouble with my Media Center PC.
    Its true that some programs start early or end late but Windows Media Center has options to record early and ednd late. It works great.

    i don’t think there are settings like that on the tivo.. correct me if im wrong. im seriously looking into finding some software to turn my pc into a media center

    After several unhappy years with various PVR software I have finally settled on Windows Media Center 2005.

    My advice, if you wish to heed, would be get the Media Center from NewEgg or MSDN.
    Also get a Hauppage 250MCE or 350. Other cards are just not worth the trouble.
