Georgie – it was just a suggestion and you missed my point. I am just suggesting that too many people watch too much TV and what are we getting from it? Mostly Trash. There is some good stuff but I think we need to get out of the box – the TV box and read to our childern (doesn’t have to be the bible but it wouldn’t hurt) or talk to our spouse. It seems like everything evolves around SEX – have we become that shallow? Instant gratification seems to drive so many now – and being a tough guy like Georgie Porgie – insulting those you do not agree with the norm.
Don’t blame advertising for the fact that sex is everywhere. They merely go to what sells. If there is a so-called ‘moral majority’ in this country which dictates values and morals and what-not, then that same group is a bunch of hypocrytes for making sex a successful way to sell something. Don’t bitch about the status of things when you help to make it that way.
Who gives a crap! They did not show any T&A so who cares, these people need to get a life.

Ah, clearly I’ve hit a nerve – so I’ll keep going. The point really was: we are ALL collectively responsible for sex being everywhere, since we all buy things which are sold using sex (make-up, cars, beer, clothing, whatever). Given that, I submit that we are not nearly as ‘moral’ a society as people like to pretend we are. We have to stop being false to ourselves before anything else can change.
the arguments against this stuff or ludicrous… legislating morality, which is what the religious right, moral majority, FCC and ultimately the republican party are trying to do is simply assinine. i’m blown away that a split second of janet’s boob and some suggested nudity in this MNF clip are major news stories that reflect the “decay of society” when real issues like the economy, health care and the war in Iraq are virtually ignored. look @ the election… people voted based on abortion, gay marriage and “morals” when none of that affects their daily life. if sally gets knocked up and chooses to have an abortion, that has no effect on my life. if she & her significant other decide they want to pledge their love to each other ’til death do they part so they can share in the same rights that we “hetero” folk have, that has no effect on my life! but the fact that i haven’t had a raise in 2.5 years, while my health insurance has gone up over $110/month and gas is over $2 a gallon, plus my 401k is tanking and friends and loved ones are dying in Iraq – that… that has an effect on me.
Sex sells because we ALL think about it. All the time. All of us. We all want to fuck. Alot. And the hypocrisy of our society on this subject is not simply nauseating – it’s pathological. It’s self-evident, even to the spelling challenged like myself.
Wow who cares man. It is actually kind of funny. Whoever takes offense to that should be hit in the head. The fcc is the most blasphemous and ridiculos source of government. When will America stop being so uptight and making a mockary of the constitution.

The reaction to this is very indicative to what’s going on in our country today. It’s this swooping shift to conservativism that quite frankly sickens me. Nothing was shown in that commercial. Deal with it. I guarantee this kids see worse than that at school and at home. Censorship and over-conservativism ( I know that’s not a word) is tearing down the freedom that is supposed to be America.

The heighth of hypocrisy. It’s OK for scantily clad cheerleaders to get all kinds of air time, but a rather humorous vignette is slammed. I believe I can make up my own mind thank you. All the hoopla is just another example of the continuing de-evolution of the USA into the Christian Republic of America.
It’s not a matter of good vs evil, it’s a war over which Network TV station can push the limits on just how much can be shown on the free tube.
We live in a society where Network TV has now gone to “commit the crime, and ask for forgiveness later” and thats just exactly what has happened. ABC felt left out that during the Super Bowl Janet’ tit, clad with hardware was exposed and the only excuse that came from it was that she had a wardrobe malfunction, yeah right? That was planned more in advance than half the pregnancies in this country these days.
While that opening scene may not have been (once again, appropriate for the younger crowd that watches these days) it wasnt anything different than what most kids witness in their own homes, except most dads arent dressed like TO, and I’m sure, have nearly a pound or more brains in their heads than TO.
And for the record, Nicholette Sheridan can share my shower anytime, I repeat, anytime her house burns down.

My comment is coming from a single christian parent with a pre-teen daughter who tries to monitor what she watches, where she goes and what she does. She and I have seen worse things on TV and she has been exposed to worse things in school. We happen to see Janet’s performance and my daughter spotted the jeweled boob before I did. And no, I didn’t approve of the so called “accident”. However, in this case I thought the commercial was FUNNY and people who DON’T have enough to do and overly critical took it out of context. I just got through reading a slogan for a t-shirt that said, “God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.” I think this sums it up.

I was highly entertained by the “Housewives” promo and was stunned by the outcry from the fanatical religious right. I’m a woman who believes in God, tries to live a life of faith, BUT I still have a sense of humor and can differentiate it when something is a spoof and when it’s smut! I thought it was hilarious, Nicolette Sheridan was just making fun of the “man eating” characters she’s played before, and I thought Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman were funny too. As a matter of fact, I think the whole show is hysterical and highly entertaining! If I HAD a garden, I’d want that hottie gardner “pruning my beds,” ya know? I think people need to lighten up, quit complaining and let’s worry about the important things in the world, like the war in Iraq, fixing the economy and fixing the disaster that is our health-care system! ‘Nuff said…..ciao!

I didn’t see anything in this that’s not already airing on other programs INCLUDING the daytime soaps. This had nothing in it that was any worse than some beer commercials I’ve seen…….and we ALL love those! What does disturb me is the concept of promoting desperate house”wives”….looks like another attack on marriage to me.
Probably one of the best commercials ever,it should win the award for commercial of the year! I’ve seen alot more sexy scenes on daytime soaps! People that are complaining about this must be the same tight ass morons that voted for that mentally challenged idiot bush,NOW THAT’S OFFENSIVE! Oh and by the way, tony dumbgy should worry about the holes in his own defense before worrying about other holes!

I was neither entertained nor offended by the ad. I actually think it was kind of dumb, but who cares! There are more important things to worry about. If you don’t like it, turn the channel.
It was a funny spoof, but not so appropriate for Monday Night football. It blurs the line between a sport and Hollywood. Let’s just keep it professional – too much glam.

Good grief people, we’re having our butts shagged in Iraq, and an entire generation is being sacrificed over an illegal war that has and continues to tarnish our international reputation thru-out the world, we’ve somehow put a dangerous and clueless demogogue back in the white house for another 4 years, the economy is in a slo-motion taking that will ultimatly bring down our stock market in crushing debt, creationism is co-opting hard science in primary schooling which will render future American generations the equivalent of ignorant morons in the real world… which will also mean these future Americans will be too clueless to recognize dangers that science can reveal are real, (global warming anyone?) Our government is actively seeking ways to justify torture, degradement of the environment for the sake of industry profits and much more negative acts in our names… But all we regular folks can do is focus on a completely irrelevant promo for a T.V. show… A promo which incidentally didn’t expose a breast or buttock or any other supposed pornographic body part, good grief the woman had her back to us in the presumed ‘money shot’ and had panties on for cryin out loud… About the only thing this implied that could be construed as socially negative (by some, not me personally) is the idea that a white women might be sexually attracted to a black man, and as it turns out, this actually happens in the real world, so get over it. Black women sometimes go for white guys too, (who knew!). This WAS NOTHING compared to the abominations going on in the real world… I’ll grant that MNF’s opening is getting out of hand with the glitz and glamour thing… But this has more to do with clueless marketing heads at ABC who don’t really understand the astectics of football but do understand a marketing concept… They just can’t regognize the difference in a good one and a bad one… In any case, we as a nation have much bigger worries than this tripe. IF (for some people) it bothers you so much, just turn the damn channal and move on to something else to watch. And if you want to raise hell about something, write your congressperson and bitch about what our government is doing to our country and the rest of the world in our names………

I just happened on this page, and I had to laugh. Most of these people who added comments can only comprehend criticism of that tacky little ad as being from cristians, conservatives, puritans. Well, I’m not a christian (not any religion), and I sure as fvck didn’t vote for George W. Bush… but I think that video was cheesy poor taste. It’s not a big deal — it’s just brain dead, and I think they could’ve come up with something a little bit less like “Beavis and Butthead make a video”.
