Man Says Bush Should Be Killed
This post was published 5 years 2 months 5 days ago and its content may not be valid anymore.A candidate for the Thousand Oaks, Calif. city council has distributed a handbill calling for President Bush to be assassinated and for sex acts to be committed against twin daughters Jenna and Barbara Bush.
The distribution of the fliers by Daniel Avila, 25, got him some attention by the Secret Service. The agents and a Ventura County sheriff’s deputy showed up at this week’s council meeting after council members learned of the fliers.
Avila admitted Wednesday he distributed the fliers at the city’s Oktoberfest celebration. The handbills stated, “President George W. Bush Deserves to Be Assassinated.”
It also called for sexual attacks against his daughters.
“I just think people need to allow something they don’t like in their society to exist. In general that’s what democracy is all about,” Avila told reporters.
He wouldn’t discuss his motives.
Avila first got the attention of authorities when he showed up wielding a hatchet at a July 26 meeting of the Planning Commission. A sheriff’s sergeant regularly attends the meeting.
