ACLU Challenges Ban on Nude Teen Camps

News: “A lawsuit filed Tuesday challenges a new state law that effectively bans nude summer camps for teenagers, saying it violates the constitutional right to privacy.

The American Civil Liberties Union sued in federal court to keep the state from shutting down a no-clothing camp for juveniles in late July at the White Tail Park nudist camp in Ivor.

The law was passed in March in response to a weeklong residential camp for 11- to 18-year-olds last June at White Tail. It was the first in Virginia and only the third such au naturel camp for juveniles in the nation, according to the American Association of Nude Recreation.”

    If the people who are pro-choice (Abortionists) can find abortion some how in the Constituion, then they can defently find Naturists.

    We are born naked, our bodies in American society are seen to be disgusting or dirty. Janet Jackson had her breast shown and it cost millions of dollars.

    In Europe you see nudity on T.V. everyday. Why is it bad in American Society? Nudity is what life is suppoed to be we were never ment to be clothed.

    This is why I hate living in America. can someone tell me what’s wrong with nudity? Many would say it corrupts to morals of children, but that claim suggests that there is something else wrong with nudity, for it to be immoral. Yet worse, large Christian-based groups are behind the anti-nudity hysteria, but according to the Bible, humans are supposed to be naked. In my many years of asking why, I’ve never heard an answer that makes the responder look remotely intelligent.

    By the way, I’m 19 and I’ve been a nudist since I was 15. My godparents are also nudists. Right now, I’m trying to start up a nudist club. If any other nudists in or near southern New England would like to help me, email stormkitten87 (at) yahoo (dot) com.

    Oh no, children seeing the human body as it actually is! We must be ashamed of our bodies, and hide them. Your objection to nudity is puritanical nonsense, and you need to get over your own severe cultural repression. Just seeing a naked human has never hurt anyone in the history of the world. What hurts people is these silly cultural taboos making people ashamed of their own bodies.

    What are lawmakers thinking when they make rediculous laws as this one? The human body is a beautiful thing!!! From the time you are born, you know what you look like meaning you also know what every other person of your sex looks like. Seeing another body in its purest form is a gift from God. If parents would teach their children to express themselves and be free with their bodies we wouldn’t have this problem. It’s as if we are supposed to be ashamed of our body. This is an infringement on the rights of the people. Nude is not crude!!

    First of all, I agree with Kevin. Since the beginning of mankind, ie, Adam & Eve, humans were meant to be naked. “God Created Nudity, Man created Shame” ! Society, has a warped, and twisted way of thinking. People in general think nothing about looking at rude and crude explicit maagazines, etc. But when it comes to somehing beautiful as the naked body in beaches, resorts, colonies, and camps, society has a cow, Oh, this is immoral and sinfully wrong, what’s up with this double standard, not to mention seeing nude paintings in art galleries, which is considered “art”, and all due respect it is, but what’s the problem or issue with seeing a naked human in public ? Whether people are clothed or not we still treat others with dignity and respect. Since people like to be prejudiced, meaning pre-judging someone, by what they wear, Being naked, society, can longer pre-judge, for we are all the same, taken down all the barriers, no one is better than anyone else.

    I live in America. I live in South Carolina. As time goes by, America is gradually relaxing its view on nudity, but only slowly. I am not officially a nudist, but I am an advocate of nudism. Of all American states, Arkansas has the worst view on nudity. In Arkansas, it is illegal to even advocate nudity; that is evidently a bogus law. I never want to even step foot in the state of Arkansas. It is the worst American state to live in. It is evil to criminalize nudism.

    I was raised in a Christian-based cult that is strongly against nudity. I left that cult not too long ago. I began to study nudism in 2005, and that gave me a new reason to leave my parents’ cult and their home (other than their stance on video games, motion pictures, and the Internet). The concept of body shame contradicts with Genesis 1:31, Psalm 139:14, Isaiah 5:20 and 45:9, Romans 14:16, 1 Timothy 4:4, and Titus 1:15, 16. God created nudity; man created body shame. The birthday suit is the best outfit ever. Whether people are clothed or naked, they can behave decently. We still treat others the way we want to be treated whether they are clothed or naked.

    Body shame has never kept children safe. Children are born naked and without body shame; they are taught body shame. I believe that the media content rating systems, such as the Entertainment Software Ratings Board and the Classification and Ratings Administration (film ratings system), should delete non-sexual nudity from their rating criteria. It is wrong to suppress access to non-sexual nudity on the Internet, especially through the use of censorware such as KidsWatch. Nudism is the antithesis of pornography.

    If everyone were happier naked, crime and violence will be all but non-existent.
    If everyone were happier naked, prisons will be all but obsolete.
    If everyone were happier naked, there will be almost no more teenage romance.
    If everyone were happier naked, there will be no more of that video game controversy.
    If everyone were happier naked, there will be no more family breakups. Therefore, there would be no more domestic violence, and domestic violence shelters will be obsolete.
    If everyone were happier naked, there will be no more civil war.
    If everyone were happier naked, people will no longer be prejudged.
    If everyone were happier naked, everyone will openly accept each other. People are less conservative about their personal space when naked than when clothed.

    No one seems to want to understand why the Bible says nudity is wrong.

    It is not wrong for the sake of being wrong. The problem with constant nudity is that it desensitizes everyone’s sex drive.

    Yes, the human body is fantastic and wonderful and all of that. But think of all the other things that are wonderful and fantastic that we take for granted every day: the sunset, the sunrise, beaches, trees, mountains, and everything else we see everyday.

    The reason the Bible wants us to respect nudity and sex is to make sex feel so good and wonderful.

    Unfortunately, our culture is so sexual and explicit that sex is cheap and rather meaningless because we take it for granted now.

    It has everything to do with wanting what you can’t have. If you can’t see any part or very few parts of people, then you will think their entire body is sexy and wonderful. But these days, the only thing desirable are the breasts and “privates” because those are the only parts we can’t see on a daily basis. But just think of how much better it would feel if we thought of our entire bodies the same way that we think about breasts and private parts.

    If you understand it this way you will see that the Bible doesn’t hate nudity because nudity is wrong, but that it is trying to get you to appreciate things you don’t see every day.

    Hello: Yes I am a man of God, and I can tell you from experience God do’s not wear clothing. And nether did Jesus except to cover up while sleeping at night so as not to get cold in the damp air. The truth about Christians of the cloth are this.Every were they go on Earth they try to gain power by making people feel gulty so they and they alone can save them. But as every one knows, you must pay your way money being the common motivation. I, as many as you feel closer to God our naked creator when I am naked. No matter what I am doing in my daily life I try to stay naked and one with God. I know he loves me for that because I am not ashamed of his creation or that I look like HIM!
