Class Up your iPhone 4 With Beautiful Real Wood Covers (Plus Giveaway) – Now Twice As Good

It’s very rare that I get excited about a case, ever rarer when I get excited about a covering. I’m a guy who doesn’t really buy cases or covers for his gadgets and gizmos – BUT this Karvt cover really blew me away.

What Karvt does is they get real wood (they offer choices of Bamboo, Cherry, Pine and Walnut), hand sand and stain it, add some really good 3M adhesive (that doesn’t leave marks on your phone if you ever want to pull it off) to make a product that I think really classes up your iPhone.

I opted to only apply the back covering but included in the $25 price is a hand cut front panel too. The covering is fully compatible with Apple’s bumper (if you like that added protection). They offer wood skins for both the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 as well as limited editions for the iPad and all MacBooks.

    However what’s not great is the $20 shipping to Australia :(

    Wow, that’s gorgeous. The wood cover puts those plastic and rubber bumpers to shame. It’s about time someone created a cover that actually matches the elegance of the device. This is one I would actually use.

    I love things made of wood, and I agree that wooden tools, toys, and sculpture are often incredibly sensuous. Much of has sensuous quality comes from the curves and wear that come to a well designed wooden handle.
    But glueing a plank to a bit of pocketable 21st century technology just doesn’t really qualify it as a thing made of wood.

    Hey, This cover looks prety nice, but provides no protection from impacts. If you drop your phone with this vaneer on it, your phone is still TOAST! So if you are looking for a hardwood case, this is not your case. There are several places online to get wood cases, but they are either made like crap, or cost 100$+ dolars.. . . right? WRONG! I found some amazing HARDWOOD cases that dont cost even as much as these grove bamboo (grass) ones, that are way cooler. They are wood, and they are sealed with a finish that makes them impervious to water. . . check them out. I think they are by far the best wood cases i have found.
