Hey, iHave an iPad Syncing Question! Do the iPad and iPhone Play Nice?

As we wait patiently with baited breath (and wallets burning) for the iPad (insert joke here) to grace the world with its presence I was asked this question:

Hey, I have an iPhone that I play games on. If I get an iPad in addition to the iPhone, what happens to my game data? Does it stay in sync?

Interesting question. How will Apple handle the iPad? Will it be a companion to the iPhone and share data or will it be a standalone device? Surely Apple had to consider such a scenario. Hmmmm. Will iTunes sync data? MobileMe? Or SOL?

    I have an iPhone and iPod Touch that both sync with the same computer using the same iTunes account but unfortunately the games don’t stay in sync. The only games that stay in sync are the ones that connect to a server run by the game maker, like Tap Tap Revenge, and EliminatePro.

    Exactly. It’s the developers task to keep your data in sync across devices.

    I keep asking about Time Machine backups of all the photos. As I don’t want to sync my iPad to my Macbook. I want it to exist independently.

    As long as you don’t need a Wi-Fi connection you are good since it does not work. I would use a LAN line, BUT Apple says you don’t need one anymore…..RIGHT!!!!

    I would love to go to half the websites on the internet, BUT Apple does not support Flash on the iPad…..WHAT A JOKE.
