WordPress 2.5 Available

I’m sick on my birthday, so I’m trying to distract myself by posting something.

For those of you who host your own WordPress blog, version 2.5 is out. I’m excited that a gallery feature has been included. (How geeky do I have to be to get excited by that?) Here’s a screencast of some of the new features. What CMS are you using? Have you updated to 2.5? What do you think of the new features?

Update: You can get a feel for the new interface right here.

The admin area has been upgraded significantly and I love it already. Definitely a push to make me keep my blog updated more.

I am trying it out at OpensourceCMS but it’s still limited so I am waiting on Dan to upgrade! Dan! Get on that!

i think the most nifty feature would be that you can update your plugins without doing anything more than a click :)
i’m lazy and can’t be bothered to download my own plugins and upload them … i mean seriously :P lol

WP 2.5 is absolutely beautiful, I used the automatic upgrade plugin to do all the process, and it was pretty smooth. It feels really different and it is definitively worth the upgrade.

@Evan: Being sick in your birthday really sucks, get well soon.

I’m still a loyalist to ExpressionEngine, but I do use WordPress for quick and dirty projects that have to be rapidly deployed. As a fully-functional CMS I find it lacking, but for the vast majority of web projects it’s more than sufficient.

Kudos on the new update. The Happy Cog guys are about as good as it gets.
