Roses Are Red, Violets are Blue, Airlines are Bringing Free WiFi to You

As a frequent traveler (and currently on the road) I feel so out of touch when I’m on an airplane. The need for contact with the ground is only enhanced when I travel on those “free tv on the back of your seat” airlines.

Today, both JetBlue and American Airlines announced that they both have WiFi plans for their fleet.

JetBlue has announced on a test aircraft called “BetaBlue” they will offer free Wi-Fi to passengers. Unfortunately this connection will allow you to only access Yahoo mail, Yahoo instant messenger from your laptop, or the full web from your WiFi enabled Blackberry. The first flight with WiFi service will begin December 11.

Also, American Airlines will be announcing that starting next year, many transcontinental 767-200s will be equipped with Wi-Fi and broadband access via Aircell – all for free.

I think this an an exciting time to be a air traveler!

    Hopefully it’ll be given free to top members on other airlines. My dad flys like a quarter of the year and this would help him out a lot.

    Free? As in higher ticket prices free? Or as in random new tax free?

    I think he meant free as in $2 head phones to watch the free in flight movie and radio
