Denton The Man For His Job
You may or may not know Nick Denton, the Yin to Jason Calacanis’ Yang in the blog network world. Calacanis was the guy behind Weblogs Inc, which AOL bought while Denton owns Gawker media. Now the Gawker blog needs an editor aiming to go for a more traditional news feel and Denton thinks he’s the man for the job.

Nick Denton, the entrepreneur who has built Gawker Media into a formidable blog brand, said two weeks ago that he wanted the new editor of his flagship site, Gawker.com, to oversee its evolution toward a more traditional news operation.
Now he has apparently determined that he is the right man for the job.
Mr. Denton, who has parlayed his collection of 14 blogs into a multimillion-dollar enterprise, will become the managing editor, at least on a temporary basis, of the prominent New York media blog on Jan. 2, according to three employees who requested anonymity because the move has not been announced. Asked about the new position, Mr. Denton declined to comment.
As a side note, if the New York Times is listening I am more than willing to divulge Dan’s plans to move over to a Windows-fanboy website. Anonymously, of course.
