Apple Prepping New Displays?

According to Jason O’Grady it seems that Apple may be quietly prepping to replace their aging displays.

Some time last night Apple re-shuffled the layout of the front page of their online store and removed all mentions of the Cinema Display. They didn’t remove the displays entirely though. You can still find them by clicking on Accessories in the left navi, then on Displays. But it’s a definite snub.

He also continues to speculate that the displace if refreshed at Macworld will feature LED backlighting, an HDMI port, a built-in iSight camera and a new industrial design.

I don’t about the front page, but they’ve been off the store page for a while now. I was trying to show them to my boss about a month ago and I had to go through the “Mac” tab to get to them. It may have even been like this since they re-designed the store a while back. I love the displays as they are, but they could always use an upgrade (Would LED’s make them run cooler?)

@Chris, Yes cooler. Plus thinner construction, less energy consumption, longer life and typically a brighter display with increased contrast. All good except they run substantially more money. Will it be worth it? YES!
