Gmail Users Have IMAP. All of you.

Mikey, I know – this isn’t to break the news, but Google said EVERYONE has it now, because before it was a grab bag to see who had it.

Still no IMAP for me.

It doesn’t work if I set my Language to English(UK). It has to be English(US). I’m an Aussie so I find this annoying (Uk English is almost exactly the same as AU).

I’m too lazy to go use google so instead I’ll somehow not be too lazy to ask this question here……… what’s the difference between POP3 and IMAP? and which is better and why?

POP and IMAP have one major difference: with POP your email is copied to your computer, and then deleted off the server, while IMAP doesn’t copy anything (per se) and keeps everything on the server until you delete it manually. While it might seem like a small difference, the main benefit is that you can have access to your entire email account at any machine with IMAP, while you’re limited to just one with POP. In the early days of email, POP was the standard, but more people are becoming aware of IMAP and are choosing it over POP.

Yessss I actually just figured this out like this morning while checking my mail!! Weird coincidence!

I don’t, but again, I’m french… Maybe all of you means “all of us americans” in google language :-)

I checked the pop and forwarding settings, and there is NO enable IMAP setting
