Broadband to Get the WalMart Treatment

Walmart has entered the broadband business. With a partnership with satellite provider Hughes Communications, Walmart will resell bandwidth at a discounted rate at 800 of its stores stores starting today.

With average prices rising to $44 recently from $42 two years Walmart hopes their new strategy will push the prices lower again.

    I’d rather pay $50/month for DSL than $15/month for satellite. Satellite has the most marvelously huge latencies known to networking kind.
