The ‘ol bait trick to target possible threats

Whatever it takes. War is unfair. While the reason for invading Iraq (protection of the dollar as world currency) is not working, if you are going to do it ,do it right and 100%. Civilian casualities are inevitable and have been since at least the second world war as a policy. We are there like it or not. Of course we are not really at war because only congress can declare war. But that is another thread somewhere else.

wouldn’t it’ve made the entire war cheaper if we just, you know, erased Iraq……… course it’s be nice and easy it take a group out if you planted an internal long range explosives receiver and GPS so you can track and eliminate groups better…….. or you know……. the snipers could just incapacitate them then interrogate them then kill them as well……….. but what do I know….. I just like to see things explode………….. and thermite……… lots of thermite should be involved some how……….

well… this certainly sounds like they will be sending out gaggles of little kids to start picking up bait, I’m sure that will really help the moral of the locals, our snipers popping their 8 year olds.

I’m thinking along the lines of Chad… they will just claim and may be right from time to time that they are sniping innocent people. Some might not know what it is but recognize that it is out of place. Other might recognize it and try to get it and take it to local troops. Lastly if someone with that intent picks up the stuff it hardly proves guilt. In all three cases the deaths could be easily called murders. To top it off i personally think the guys blowing up stuff are collecting the pieces off of the ground they are manufacturing or buying what they need. Stuff just lying around is a total give away these guys have proved that they are not the village idiots.

This tactic isn’t new. My dad recently retired from the Army and he was part of the 75th Ranger Regiment. His old company and other Special Operations units plant cars with GPS trackers for people to steal and later go find out where they are and preferably arrest and interrogate them or take them out. Also, for them, their rules of engagement was, if that person picked up or even had a weapon near by, they were considered a enemy. With this kind of ROE, even though it my kill some innocent people, but in the long run it might save thousands by showing the insurgents that we aren’t playing and to stop building the IEDs. I think this is a good idea, but should only really implement it in high risk areas.

im not going to read other peoples posts.. im going to assume its the same stuff as allways, all im going to say is… this is a war its kill or be killed.

I have friends and family over there i dont really give a shit what is done or how as long as my friends/family is safe

I doubt this tactic is going to continue to be used if it’s already being publicized. No government, even America, is so stupid as to announce their tactic before using it.
