Quick Look at the SlingBox Solo

Over the last few days Sling Media was gracious enough to let UNEASYsilence poke around with a pre-production SlingBox Solo – You know the model the FCC accidentally leaked. The SOLO, priced at $179.99 is designed to fill the gap between consumers who wanted the SlingBox AV (Which only offers composite video and controlls one device) and SlingBox Pro (Has four inputs, built in cable tuner, and progressive video passthrough). The Solo, in addition to its refreshed design, has standard integrated support for component video, composite video, and pass-through outputs. Interestingly enough the unit has a USB port on the back which raises some questions.
Since the unit was a preproduction model we will not pass official judgement on the unit, but this unit has provided even better picture quality then any other Sling model previously offered in my tests.
The Slingbox solo launches tomorrow morning for $179.99. More pictures after the jump.
