Send Large Files Across the Internet – For Free

Free Thursday continues with a way to shoot large files across the internet. Every now and again we have to send multiple megabyte files via email, but get frustrated when out ISP caps the attachment size to usually less the 20MB.

Using a service like YouSwap you can send 1GB files across email, without clogging inboxes. Just visit YouSwaps home-page, select the file you want to send, put in the recipients email address and hit upload.

It will then send a link to the recipient on where to pickup the huge file that awaits them.

Another one is transferbigfiles.com , lets you send files up to 2GB. Last time I check it didn’t work properly with Safari, so use firefox or camino on the mac.

I think mediafire.com is the best, supports download managers, no countdown and you can auto-email a link as well.
OK sure it’s max 100mb… but not many people would go over that.

Pando is the single most useful app I’ve come across in the last year or so.
Free version allows unlimited 1gb files. The small client works on Windows, Linux and Macs.
It’s basically bittorrent creation for the masses and if you know how to use 7zip to compress files and break the archive in sub 1Gb chunks you basically get unlimited p2p file sending.

It really is that good
