My Other iPhone is a Nokia

As a follow up to our post earlier on the new Nokia phones we should ask if you think this video reminds you of anything? Luckily Nokia is a decent company so I imagine they would make this phone like what the iPhone should have been, more open as Nokia phones are.

Notice how she pronounces Nokia (Knock-ia)? It’s been driving me nuts since I’ve moved to London.

Well they’re in Finland, so it the Westerners saying it incorrectly, is that what’s annoying you, the way we say it or them?

Finland is a western country (but maybe you just mean “people west of Finland”). And I’ve asked a Scandinavian friend whose brother works for Nokia (albeit in Copenhagen), and she told me it’s pronounced with the “k” emphasized in the second syllable.

What annoys me is the way the Brits pronounce it. And it’s more of a playful annoyed, not an actual “Say it right, idiots!” type of thing.
