Court Orders Pirate to Use Windows
Scott McCausland was accused of and plead guilty to downloading Star Wars Episode III (Revenge of the Phantom Sith Enterprise Scotty?) and after serving five months in prison (Mind you Cocaine carrying Lohan got only hours) the court ordered that he must have monitoring software installed on his PC and that software is not compatible with Linux.
I had a meeting with my probation officer today and he told me that he has to install monitoring software onto my PC. No big deal to me; that is part of my sentence,” [Scott wrote].
“However, the [monitoring] software doesn’t support GNU/Linux. So he told me that if I want to use a computer, I would have to use an OS that the software can be installed on.
“Which basically means Microsoft and monitoring software or no computer. I use Ubuntu 7.04 now, and they are trying to force me to switch.”
Thats it, rack up another sale for Microsoft! I’m sorry, I’m not outraged that the court is forcing him to use Windows, rather that Scott had to serve FIVE MONTHS!
