classic_withcopy.gifYahoo! mail users who are close to their quota should love this announcement. Yahoo has begun to roll out thier touted unlimited email storage with FREE POP access. How do you know you have been upgraded to unlimited storage? Easy, if you see the “You have unlimited storage” status indicator you’re all set.

Also according to a reliable source Yahoo will also soon enable IMAP for all existing and new users to compete with Google’s offering.

I’ve been with Yahoo since the 90s. No way I could possibly make a change now, even if I wanted to. The last few years, I’ve paid the $20/yr to kill ads and for POP access – seems like a bargain to me. Unlimited storage sounds good to me.

Hopefully this lights a fire under Google’s ass to add IMAP to Gmail.

I’ve had a Yahoo account for years now. And mine still says 1GB of storage. I wonder if that will go up. And hopefully they will soon add support for Safari.

Well Bulgaria, you are blind to your own actions.
Back in the 90s everyone was having so much email “sex” with each other that everyone’s address was spread all over the internet, kept in long time storage to be sold off to the highest bidders just waiting for spam to be invented.

Now you claim you use gmail, and you have no spam, could it be that you matured from your slutty Mellisa spreading ways? Maybe you signed up for some free porn long long long ago, and just wont admit to yourself how stupid you were when this new webmail thing happened.

Gmail is doing a lot better with spam, its rare if i get any now, put of coarse its not fool proof so once in a while ill get something. ive never been happier with email since Gmail.

I use Gmail, and I doubt any offerings will attract me to other services. 2GB is more than enough as it is. Plus the interface looks cool.

I have switched to Gmail from Yahoo 2 months ago. Still liking what Gmail offers. It’s fast, reliable, and I especially like how they organise the mails into clusters. No way hose that I want to go back to the slow YMail (the beta one).

I’m with Ian, maybe this will motivate Google to update Gmail to offer the option of IMAP support for Gmail users.

I guess no one see the improved emailling experience with the threading system that GMail is so great with?
