Use an Airport Expres Without iTunes (on a PC or Mac, Linux Too)

Like the idea of a remote speaker system – but don’t like being locked into iTunes? If you run a Mac or PC (Even Vista!) we recommend AirTunes. It is a standalone application that hooks into applications and transit their audio stream wirelessly.

If you are a Linux user, consider Raop_play. This application acts as a music file player for Apple Airport Express that can stream M3U files or act as a second sound card.

I believe you mean Airfoil. AirTunes is Apple’s name for streaming iTunes content to an Airport Express. Airfoil is Rogue Amoeba’s product for streaming any audio from any application to an AP Express.
