Tell the Temperature by Listening to the Chirping of a Cricket

This is no joke. You can actually tell the outside temperature by listening to the chirping of a cricket, because the frequency of chirping varies according to temperature. To get a rough estimate of the temperature in degrees fahrenheit, count the number of chirps in 15 seconds and then add 37. The number you get will be an approximation of the outside temperature.

    Are there people that don’t know this? I’m 32 and I was doing this when I was seven or eight years old.

    I can’t listen to the audio, but if i recall, you count the number of cricket chirps in 60 seconds, and add 15 to it to get the temperature in Fahrenheit. If my memory is not lying to me, that’s how I did it.
